The ballet classes embrace sound ballet principles based on the traditions of the Vaganova classical ballet technique fusing the American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum guidelines. The main objective is to master and have working knowledge of the fundamental concepts of the ballet technique and French terminology - essential for every ballet dancer. The focus will be on the basic barre and center exercises with emphasis on feet articulation, abdominal strength, body- head- arms coordination, preparatory exercises for more complex pirouettes and allegro. The exercises are geared toward helping young dancers grow technically stronger while facilitating correct alignment and placement, making dance easier without unnecessary tension. Students will master the application of the eight body directions as well as the classical port de bras and complex coordination. The jumps will include petite, medium and grand allegro along with basic batterie. Throughout the working process, students will be guided to develop and define artistic and technical virtuosity, musicality, individual style and presence as performing artist.
