For 36 years the Florida Dance Festival (FDF) is one of the major annual dance events in the southeastern U.S. Our distinguished program offers workshops, master classes and an outstanding performance series featuring Florida, national and international guest artists.

Schedule

The Florida Dance Festival’s schedule of daily classes is designed for serious students and professionals seeking a rich, satisfying dance experience. Students in repertory classes will perform in the Festival Finale on June 24, 2017. Classes are limited in size to provide more individualized instruction and maintain a quality learning experience. While we make every effort to give you your first choice, classes are filled on a first come, first served basis in the order we receive registration forms. Therefore, we encourage you to register promptly to assure placement in your first choice classes.

All participants in Hip Hop repertory must take hip hop technique. We accept registration until classes are full.

Minimum age is 11 years old and must have had at least 2 full years of modern dance training to enroll in the Florida Dance Festival.

Registration Fee:

All fees will require an additional $40 Registration Fee. Groups whom register together, under the umbrella of a studio or organization who is a member of the Florida Dance Association, requires a one time Registration Fee of $40.

TUITION WAIVER FOR TEACHERS

Tuition fees will be waived for teachers from schools or studios who accompany 7 or more students to the Florida Dance Festival. Students must be registered as full time for the Festival (Full time is 4 classes per day and no student overlap is allowed.)

Internship

Internship:

The Florida Dance Festival (FDF) invites mature applications, 18 or older, who have the necessary skills to assist in FDF operations.

As a Florida Dance Festival Intern, you will:

- Receive on-the-job training and gain valuable experience that will be applicable to various aspects of your career.
- Free Entry to Festival Events and Performances.
- Receive a partial scholarship to the Florida Dance Festival.
- Be a member of the Florida Dance Festival Administrative Team.

Choreographic Residency

Moving Current / NewGrounds Choreographic Residency at the Florida Dance Festival is dedicated to fostering the creation of new work. This 9 day residency at the Florida Dance Festival is sponsored by Moving Current and the Florida Dance Association. As the Choreographer in Residence, artists receive on campus housing, rehearsal space, mentoring, classes at the festival, and a full public performance of their work. Choreographers are selected by a panel of dance professionals based on the artistic excellence of the work samples submitted. If you are accepted there is a fee of $250, paid by May 31.
